Hey everyone,POST NYCC:
NYCC was a blast, I had a ton of fun. I got a bunch of sweet art from some artists I've been dying to meet, such as
, Joelle Jones ([link]
(who didn't show, but his awesome rep Jason was there), Ted Naifeh ([link]
, and a few others who I'm forgetting at the moment.
I also got to see and catch up with
who was awesome as ever. She finally finished coloring my Molly Hayes sketch, which she was holding hostage because it was so awesome and she didn't want to ever let it go.
She also was kind enough to take time out of her busy schedule to sit with me and go over my portfolio for a few minutes and gave me some super helpful tips. I didn't feel like a total failure afterwards and she assured me it was because I was doing something right, so YAY! XD
I dropped off my portfolio with a few publishers, the big two didn't call me back to review it, but there was a lot of competition naturally and there's less room for colorists than pencillers, so I wasn't too surprised there. I got some good feedback from a few of the mid-tier companies, and to mix things up one was actually kind of brutal (he did have valid critiques though, so I need to work on some of that stuff. We'll see if anything comes of it and if not, I'll be refining and practicing until the next convention.UPCOMING COMMISSION SPECIALS (PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING IF INTERESTED):

I will not be responding to or accepting any requests before November 1st, so please save all your requests until then. I will be completing them as fast as possible, so if you're looking for a nice gift for a friend or family member (or even yourself ), it is very likely you'll have it before the holidays.
I'll color original and existing characters, and am certainly willing to take color direction if you have some reference for what you're getting. We will discuss what you're looking and finalize details BEFORE I begin coloring, so I know what I need to do and what you want. Nudity is OK if it's soft-core like something in playboy, but I will not be doing anything involving sexual acts or explicit nudity, so don't even ask.
